The plot goes on a decade after "X-men: Days of future past" bearing an innovative storyline, such as the new arrangement of the mutant squad, and briefly introduces the spectator to the memoir of each character, also picturing the provenance of their powers.
The return of Apocalypse is, reasonably, the main explored subject by the director, Bryan Singer. Throughout the movie, the former mutant chooses Storm, Psylocke, Angel and Magneto to be his horsemen. Together they intend to clean up the human race and give a fresh start to the mutants. Meanwhile, Professor Xavier, Mystique and their pupils, step in to stop the mutant's evil plan, opening the epic encounter that brought thousands to the theatres.
One of the movie's highlights is the imprinted comical disposition given to Quicksilver (Evan Peters) and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), which developed playful occasions among the sobriety and tension of the other scenes.
Other highlights are given to Raven and Jean, who take crucial part in the story's finale; Magneto brings up his rage against human kind due to his family's death; and the fantastic moment (expected by many fans) when Charles goes bald, assuming the iconic look he has in cartoons and comic books. Beyond that, Wolverine's appearance took fans to excitement, since it was a loyal scene to the original story.
Lastly, the final credits scene introduces the name of Nathaniel Essex (Mister Sinister's alter ego), generating big expectation among the public for a possible extension of the trilogy with Essex as the main villain.
The movie shows a modified cast where stands out: Sophie turner, playing as Jean Grey; Alexandra Shipp, that replaced Halle Berry in Storm's part; Scott summer also got a new performer (Tye Sheridan), such as the Nightcrawler, now played by Kodi Smit-McPhee.
